NZ Mountain Bike Crown.
The NZ Mountain Bike Crown is being created by ex. Olympic rider Kashi Leuchs (Black Seal imports in Dunedin). The concept behind the ‘NZ Crown’ is to help give NZ MTB races an overall objective each season by providing a national ranking in each Mountain bike discipline of Enduro, DownHill and Cross-Country. It's free for both riders and events to take part in this is. Spot prizes and performance prizes will be up for grabs too.
How the ‘Crown’ concept works: Events are allocated Gold, Silver or Bronze status' and depending on the status of each event, points will be allocated accordingly. At the end of the NZ MTB season (30th April), the King’s and Queen’s will be crowned and awarded prizes for the winner of each category. There will also be a dedicated ranking for MTB Clubs and Teams which will aim to provide clubs and bike brands motivation to get out and encourage their riders to race more.
